The Great Britain ice hockey supporters club
was founded in 1993 by Allan Petrie
& Annette Petrie. The British Ice Hockey
Association, the governing body back in 1993, gave their permission for the creation of
the GBSC. The club has over 400 members, representatives at most British
clubs and raises funds by the sale of merchandise, raffles and special events.
The club gives financial support to the national teams at all levels. As the world's only fan club for a national team its members are renowned for their fanatical support of their country wherever
the team play.

- GDR Championship (German Democratic Republic -
East Germany)
- Between 1948 and 1990 the German Democratic Republic had its own ice hockey league (Bundesliga) and championship. From the 1970s the
championship in the GDR was reduced to a series between two teams : ECH Dynamo Berlin and
Dynamo Weisswasser. These teams played a series with about 30 games each season. German
ice hockey was the first sports league to re-form into a unique German championship after
the collapse of the GDR, even before the political reunion of Germany.
