- Exhibition Games
- In pre-season many leagues have exhibition games which are used for
conditioning, player trials, league promotion and fund raisers. Although
these games are "friendly" contests, if you are sitting in the
stands watching the game it may give a different impression (there is no
such thing as a friendly game - with the exception of the All-Star events).
- Express Cup
- Contested in 1997-98. This competition, sponsored by The Express [Express
Sport web site],

stage was played as a home and away league. The top four teams in the league
standings contested the semi-finals which were decided on the aggregate score from matches
played home and away. The final was a one off match.
